Subject: RE: Snow Conditions/ Mt. Bachelor area
Conditions in our area are pretty soft. Lots better than last weekend, when it was so hard and icy, you couldn't keep your track cool enough! Lots of people riding out of Frank Ellis today, and all had big smiles on their faces, so am going to guess that the snow we got this past week is holding up! Trails are in good shape, so far! Still grooming almost everyday, so trying to maintain what we have. If we can maintain cold nights, we should be in good shape for a bit longer! Our webmaster has updated our website, and will try to do so more frequently, so you can check there for trail conditions also. www.centraloregonsnowbusters.

Hope the snow hangs around long enough for the sled dog races next weekend! Still short on "bodies" to help on the courses, so if anyone out there can spare a day or two, we would be greatful! We are asking anyone who volunteers and are bringing motorhomes for the weekend, to please park in the Edison Sno Park! We are staging all volunteers from there!
Central Oregon Snowbusters are hosting a chili feed for the racers and volunteers on Sunday, after the last race at the Frank Ellis warming shelter. (Formerly Wanoga) If anyone can help out Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, they can contact me; Barb Allwardt at:
February 28, 2010 On the 1-hand, I do believe it’s the end of February...on the other....still seems to be "strange" 'cause where did our Winter go? From snow conditions and weather, it is just like typical Spring in the mountains. "Some" snow, "some" cold 'n ice then warm days and "it" goes.... Right now it's goin' "fast"...even the ice from the recent cold nights.
Still have good access to the higher country via the North and West side trail around Crescent Lake and then "up" Summit & Timpanogas Lks., 'round Diamond Wy. and South on Kelsey to Windago and up 'n over Windago and back in via the trail into the resort from the South side of Cr.Lk.. However, that trail is getting' very thin and it has gotten to be pretty difficult to get around the plowed road from the logging ops. near the Boy Scout camp on the West side of the lake..... We plan to see what we have left over there by about Tuesday and then decide if we can groom anymore or not. Do know that things to the North of the Junction have gotten to a point that we cannot get our equipment North from Royce mountain. Did do lower Royce yesterday with the (new) demonstrator Tucker with the tiller. It does do a very nice trail that does seem to last quite well with cold nights.
Any reports that any of you have about our area and/or other places that are still rideable, please let me know so we can share same.... Forcast calls for more moisture and colder nights early this next week..... let's hope so!!!
